In our Rothbury lab

Worm egg counts (strongyles and nematodirus)
Coccidiosis counts
Fluke egg counts
Skin scrape examination for parasites
Colostrum quality testing
Blood testing immediate result for downer cows – calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus.
Semen analysis
Anthrax testing (cow-side)
Ketosis check – shows severe energy deficit (cow-side)

Most other samples that we collect are sent to the lab at the scottish agricultural college (SAC).
